BAMF of the Day: A 31-year-old woman identified by Chinese state media as Wu Juping is credited with catching a two-year-old girl who fell from her family’s 10th-floor apartment.
Niu Niu, who was alone in the apartment after her grandmother left her unattended to run an errand, reportedly climbed onto the apartment window, where she dangled for several minutes.
Spotting the imperiled toddler, Wu “kicked off her high-heeled shoes” and dashed toward the scene. “It was so urgent,” Wu told CCTV. “I saw her when she was about to fall and rushed there, and after tens of seconds she fell off.” Wu, a mother herself, caught the child, but the impact caused her to tumble and break her arm.
According to CCTV and Xinhua, Niu Niu was taken to the hospital where she is currently listed in critical condition.
